Palliative Massage Therapy offers mobile massage for those receiving hospice or palliative care in the greater Boston region. We meet you where you are whether that be a personal residence, nursing home, assisted living facility, hospice residence, or hospital.

Ashlie Taylor LMT, CLT

Ashlie is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, and CNA/HHA in Massachusetts. Her massage and bodywork practice blend a variety of modalities including Manual Lymph Drainage, Swedish , orthopedic, deep tissue, and neuromuscular techniques. She graduated in 2015 from the 800 hour program at The Massage School located in Boston’s South End.

While still in massage school, Ashlie completed the Full CDT Training at The Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy, allowing her to practice Complete Decongestive Therapy as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. This specialized training includes Manual Lymph Drainage(MLD), compression bandaging, garment fitting and self care for those diagnosed with primary or secondary lymphedema.

Ashlie has further completed specialty training in Orthopedic Massage with Tom Karis LMT, OMT  and Oncology Massage with Tracy Walton and Associates.

Ashlie was drawn to massage therapy through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant serving hospice patients in the community. Rooted in her belief that health is an essential human right, she is currently completing an RN to BSN nursing program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, with the long term goal of establishing a practice that focuses on the needs of hospice and palliative care recipients in their homes, providing clinical and holistic knowledge to improve quality of life and assist in symptom management.

Through understanding the interactions of our  physical, emotional, spiritual, social and cultural dimensions we can begin to effect change in our habits, health and communities. Ashlie serves as an active volunteer with the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts and the Boston Liberation Health Group  where like minded individuals “fight for alternative forms of social organization that promote a more just distribution of natural and human resources and a healthy society that prioritizes human needs over accumulation of capital and profit”.

April 2018 – Completed Action Ambulance EMT-B Training with MA EMT Licensure with American Heart Association Health care provider CPR Recertification

January 2016 – 2017 Bunker Hill Community College, Nursing (2 year program) – MA RN License active in good standing.

June 2016 Oncology Massage Therapy: Caring for Clients with Cancer, Tracy Walton and Associates, Medford, MA – 32 CE hours. A 4-Day intensive workshop and supervised peer practice clinic to learn safe and effective treatment principles when working with people with cancer and cancer histories.

September 2015 – December 2015 Tom Karis Orthopedic Massage Certification Program, Burlington, MA – 100 CE hours. Focus on effective massage assessment and treatment techniques as applied to soft tissue orthopedic conditions through understanding anatomy, kinesiology and functional impact.

August 2015 The Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy, CentraState Hospital, Freehold, New Jersey – Full CDT Training 157.5 CE hours. Certified Lymphedema Therapist – Learned compression bandaging, garment fitting, exercise planning, manual lymph drainage (Vodder) protocols for treating people diagnosed with primary or secondary lymphedema.

September 2014 – October 2015 The Massage School, 64 Wareham Street, Boston, MA – Licensed Massage Therapist, License #13460. Completed the 800 hour program with 200 hours clinical practice with training in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, ethics, business management and integrative massage modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point work and foundations in shiatsu, thai, reflexology.

2013 Red Cross CNA Certification – CNA/HHA License #CNA60781 current in good standing. Completed coursework and passed the Massachusetts State Exam for the Nurse Aide Registry as a CNA/HHA in Massachusetts.
